Lori’s Update: Welcome Spring

Even with more snow in the forecast, I can’t help but look forward to spring. Seeing the tulips and daffodils start popping up always brings such bright color, especially after the dry, brown winter we had for a few months. For my yard, I have to wait a little longer for the irises to bloom. Then it will be the buds on the trees as everything starts coming back to life with the fresh green color! Megan will once again have baby goats arriving sometime this spring. It will be a happy reminder of new life after their beloved black lab, Layla, passed a couple weeks ago. Many of you may remember Layla as she was our first office dog and loved greeting all of her visitors!

Spring is also a time to clean up and clear out. It’s the perfect time to get the winter grime cleaned off the windows and open them up to allow the fresh air in. I also try to clear out some closets, cupboards, and other storage spaces of unused items. It’s time to donate those items so I am ready when the garage sales start popping up. I try to focus on clothes and other items for the grandkids when I am out, but some deals are just too good to pass up. Have you signed up for NextDoor in your neighborhood? It is a great way to keep on top of what is happening in your own neighborhood – reuniting lost pets, staying aware of any criminal activity, and knowing where to find the garage sales!

Jim & I have a couple trips to our Florida home coming up. We’ll work remotely March 5th through March 21st, but our next trip in May will include some actual vacation time. We will take our grandson, Tayvian, and are planning a trip to Walt Disney World. It’s been years since I took my own girls so if you have some great tips for me, please share!

Happy Spring!
